Welcome to our school from the Headteacher, Shona Pitcher

I am extremely proud to welcome you to Grand Avenue Primary and Nursery School and hope our website gives you all the information you require, whether you are a prospective parent keen to find out about our wonderful school or are already part of this fantastic school community.

At Grand Avenue Primary and Nursery School, we are extremely proud to offer high-quality education to all children and we cultivate an atmosphere where children are excited about learning. Our primary focus is to ensure that every child's needs are met in all aspects of school life, providing them with a wealth of experiences and opportunities. By doing so, they will leave our school at the end of Year 6 feeling confident and responsible as they embark on their Secondary School journey.

I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting Grand Avenue throughout the year - a lovely school with friendly, professional staff.

My colleagues and I had the pleasure of teaching your school today at Butser Ancient Farm. I had to write once again to give a massive thank you to the wonderful kids that visited us and the great adults that accompanied them.

Enthusiasm oozed from all the performers. Happiness was off the scale and it was easy to see all were having a great time. I was impressed that, even with such a high level of excitement, the children waited orderly and patiently whilst others performed and waited their turn.

I have been constantly impressed by Grand Avenue over the (nearly) last two years and I am so pleased we made this choice for our daughter, even though our journey is a bit tougher. All the staff are wonderful and go above and beyond on a daily basis (even today I received an email back from the office about a lost jumper when I’m sure they had much better things to do - nothing is ever too much trouble). We are very grateful.
