In-year Admissions

Parents can apply for a place for their child at any time outside the normal admissions round. If there are spaces available in the year group you are applying for, your child will be offered a place.

If there are no spaces available at the time of your application, your child’s name will be added to a waiting list for the relevant year group. When a space becomes available, it will be filled by one of the pupils on the waiting list in accordance with the over-subscription criteria. Priority will not be given to children on the basis that they have been on the waiting list the longest.

Applications for children with an EHC plan will go to the local authority SEN panel who will then consult with schools in regard to placement.

Applications for in-year admissions should be made via the following link:

Parents will be notified of the outcome of their in-year application in writing within 15 school days.

Admission appeals

You have a legal right to appeal against a decision not to offer your child a place at any or all of the schools that you've applied to. You can appeal for a place at your preferred school even though your child may have a place somewhere else.

The admissions authority for the school must explain why your child hasn't been offered a place at the school. They must also explain how you can appeal against this decision.
